28 Nov 2013 - Hampshire Event Photography - Southampton Solent University - Chapter Magazine Launch Party

Photographed the launch of new BA (Hons) Writing Fashion and Culture magazine at Southampton Solent University: Chapter magazine, where guest speakers such as Laura and Damien Santamaria, editors of Sublime magazine, who contributed to the magazine gave a question and answer session along with respected publishing and magazine editors and speakers. The event had a lovely atmosphere where it was great to network and hear industry speakers about how to make it in the magazine world.

20 Sept 2013 - Somerset Event Photography - SAW: Abundance Feast at East Lambrook Manor Gardens

Commissioned by Somerset Art Works to photograph at Lambrook Manor Gardens in South Petherton, Somerset. There was a wonderful micro taster menu created by artist Tasha Tucker - Vallecillo (see portrait with her child below). Enjoyed talking to artists and tasting the interesting menu with bites such as wild life, seaweed mushroom and rocket and plum and apple cider. A relaxed unique evening event that combined art and food wonderfully organized by Zoe Li. Also many thanks to Chloe Skinner and Zoe for being so helpful on the evening and making it possible for me to photograph this event. See more about the Abundance Project here: http://sawabundance.wordpress.com/ Somerset Art Weeks 2013 guide: http://www.somersetartworks.org.uk/artweeks13_event

13 Sept 2013 - Somerset Event Photography - SAW: Art Weeks Launch at Barrington Court

I was the event photographer for Somerset Art Weeks launch on Friday 13th Sept at the lovely National Trust house, Barrington Court. Photographed a lot of interesting people and met some old acquaintances as well which was nice. It was a surprise  and pleasure to meet Kevin McCloud and Dame Helen Ghosh at the event as well. Certainly a full on experience. Taught me so much as a photographer and learnt a lot about my equipment, especially my flash which I had just bought the day before! Happy I managed to get the hang of it quickly! See the guide for SAW Art Weeks this month here: http://www.somersetartworks.org.uk/artweeks13

17 Aug 2013 - Somerset Portrait Photography - Mahfuza Portrait

Photographed my step-mother as she was just about to leave the house. Love these small and beautiful fleeting moments. Capturing her off-guard with a smile is wonderful. Certainly be taking more images like this.

11 Aug 2013 - Somerset Family Photography - Syed Family Portrait

Had an impromptu quick family portrait session when the Syed family came to visit Somerset (minus my aunty). It's been a while since I had seen my cousins so this certainly was a photo opp I could not miss especially on a lovely summer's day!

7 Aug 2013 - Somerset Corporate Photography - Portrait Sitting with Ruby

Created some headshots for Ruby's massage business www.relaxing-remedies.com. It's always great working with other self-employed professionals and getting an insight to their practice. I was pleased with these simple headshots only using natural light from the window, these portraits certainly reflect her massage business and personality!

7 Aug 2013 - Somerset Family Photography - Haq Family Portrait

Photographed my family for a personal project I was creating over the summer called 'A Family's Evolution'. I really enjoyed photographing my family and decided to take a mixture of serious and happy looking images. The cheerful images I shot from the project certainly seemed more natural especially as I am photographing my own family. I would like to take more images like this of happy moments of other families as I enjoy the atmosphere and occasion it creates.

4 Aug 2013 - Devon Family Photography - Henderson Family Portrait

Visited my partner's place over the summer whilst photographing for my family portrait project: 'A Family's Evolution' and asked if I could take a family portrait (minus their daughter who was away at the time). They are always wonderful hosts every time I visit and simply lovely people and am happy I was able to capture this in a photograph. Though typically they don't have their family portrait taken by an external photographer it was a privilege that they let me photograph them for my project and portfolio. Photographing many families for my project in a short space of time I was able to observe how every family is very different however the core values are very similar if not the same. I decided to photograph the Henderson family in their kitchen as they certainly spend most of their bonding time in this room: cooking and eating meals together so it was only fitting to photograph them in this space.

31 July 2013 - Cardiff Family Photography - Syed Family Portrait

Photographed my other uncle and his family when I visited their place over the summer at he time when I was continuing my family portrait project. The camera certainly is a powerful tool in the sense that it helps bring people together especially if certain members are fairly camera shy, family portraits show a unified group and it's always lovely to flick though images from previous years reminding you of those enjoyable summers. My family is dotted around the country and to practice and improve my portraiture skills, I have begun taking group portraits of my family when I visit them. I hope to continue this practice so you'll see more images soon!

22 Apr 2013 - Hampshire Beauty Photography - Light/Dark Contrasting Beauty Shoot

Beautiful Rosie Rothewell modelling a contrasting hair and make up styles as if it's good vs evil aesthetic. Photographed for Hair & Make up artist, Emma Skelton for her final university project at Southampton Solent and was a pleasure to work with them both. These images were my favourite from the shoot especially side by side. I love her bare shoulders which shows off her great profile. Love experimenting with different hair and make up styles especially in the studio and playing with different lighting.

1 Mar 2013 - Hampshire Beauty Photography - Exotic Taste Fashion Shoot

Really wanted to be creative on this shoot and try my hand at creating a head piece made from fresh fruits and flowers. I made the headpiece out of wire and using a necklace from New Look to make the crown over 4-5 hours as well as accessories from Primark. Dresses and neon necklace are from New Look, the necklace worn on Natalie's neck and monochrome earrings is from Topshop and strappy heels are from Zara. I really enjoyed this shoot and working with hair & make up artist to make this shoot come together and working in fashion team. Wanted to keep the clothes quite simple but modern to contrast with the opulent head piece. Inspired by still life painting of exotic fruits from 1500-1800s.
